Once a month, the UFZ Career Center invites you to Career Coffee Talks. After a short keynote speech, there is an opportunity to engage in conversation, share experiences, and make contacts. The focus is on topics that are crucial for your professional future:
- academic careers,
- key work and soft skills,
- career paths outside academia, and
- current developments such as artificial intelligence.
Participation is easy and no registration is required. You can find the access link below and receive it in advance via our mailing list.

AI tools are becoming part of everyday research and writing routines, but many researchers are still unsure how to use them responsibly. This Career Coffee Talk offers a clear, practical orientation: what matters ethically when working with AI, where the real risks lie, and how institutional guidelines connect to everyday decisions in writing and research workflows.
Dr. Maia George is an academic coach and former researcher with expertise in various areas. Her diverse range of topics includes new work in academia, scholarship applications, leveraging social media for transitioning to industry, and effective science communication.

Nina Bessing has conducted diversity trainings for Deutsche Bahn, BASF, Porsche, FU Berlin, TU Berlin, Investitionsbank Berlin, Landesbank Berlin, Caritas, Deutsche Telekom and many other organizations. She worked for more than ten years as a project manager and division manager in research. |
