David Manske

David Manske studies the spatial dynamics of the energy transition and the local conditions shaping the expansion of renewable energy. His research examines where wind and solar power are being developed, how natural and spatial conditions influence this development, and how expansion affects nature, landscapes and local energy supply. Methodologically, he combines systematic, spatially explicit analyses with high-resolution data on renewable energy installations and their geographic context. This makes regional differences visible and allows developments to be compared across spatial scales. Through the EE-Monitor, the expansion of renewable energy and its compatibility with nature are tracked across Germany using indicators and regional data.
